Structural I-beam and H-beam:

I-beam(H-beam) is is a commonly used steel product in industrial and civil buildings. Its cross-sectional shape is Type I or H, with high strength and stiffness, suitable for situations that withstand large loads.And it is widely used in buildings or other metal structures.Due to the relatively high and narrow section size of ordinary I-beam and H-beam,the moment of inertia of the two main axes of the section is quite different,which makes it very limited in the scope of application. The use of I-beam and H-beam shall be selected according to the requirements of design drawings.In the structural design,the selection of I-beam or H-beam should be based on its mechanical properties,chemical properties,weldability,structural size,etc.

Specifications and Applications of Standard I-beam and H-beam

The manufacturing standard of European standard I-beam is in accordance with EN10025-2, and its common specifications include IPE80, IPE100, IPE120, IPE140, IPE160, IPE180, IPE200, IPE220, IPE240, IPE270, IPE300, and other models. These models have different cross-sectional dimensions, area, and moment of inertia, and should be selected based on specific usage scenarios.

The main uses of European standard I-beams include:

1.Manufacturing steel structural components such as structural frames, beams, columns, and supports;

2.Components used in buildings, bridges, tunnels and other engineering projects to withstand large loads;

3.Used for manufacturing light steel structure buildings, Prefabricated building, etc;

4.Used for manufacturing machinery, equipment, and industrial supports.

Manufacturing process of European standard I-beam:

The manufacturing process of European standard I-beam mainly includes four steps: melting, casting, rolling, and cooling. The specific process flow is as follows:
Mix pig iron and scrap steel in proportion and add alloys such as limestone, silicon, and manganese;
Smelting the mixture through a blast furnace to make it liquid steel;
Casting liquid steel into a continuous casting machine to produce steel billets;
Heating the steel billet to a suitable temperature and rolling it into European standard I-beam through a rolling mill;
The rolled steel is cooled to gradually reduce its temperature and achieve ideal structural properties.

Advantages of our European standard I-beam:

Compared to other steel products, European standard I-beams have the following advantages:
1.Reasonable cross-sectional shape enhances its load-bearing capacity and saves steel usage;
2.The large lateral moment of inertia and strong bending resistance make it suitable for bearing large loads;
3.The manufacturing process is simple, the production efficiency is high, and the price is relatively low;
4.Easy to process, capable of cutting, welding, and other processing according to needs;
5.It has good plasticity and welding performance, making it easy to manufacture complex steel structural components.
